Caroline Neisha Taylor, Editor, Discover Trinidad & Tobago Magazine

Caroline Taylor (or Caroline Neisha Taylor) is a performer and media worker who was born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago, and has worked, studied and performed in Trinidad, the United States, and Great Britain since childhood.

Winner of a Commonwealth Scholarship; Hutchinson Fellowship for Theatre; and Trinidad & Tobago National Scholarship for Languages, Caroline has a Master of Arts degree in Drama & Performance Making from the University of London, Goldsmiths; and an undergraduate degree in Performance Studies from Williams College. She has also studied performance (voice, dance and experimental theatre) at the Trinity/La MaMa Experimental Theatre Company's (E.T.C.) and acting for theatre, film and television at the Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute, both in New York City (USA).
Performance Work

Performance Work

Caroline Taylor's acting and performance work ranges from (western) classical texts and opera to contemporary tragi-comedies and Caribbean folk musicals, while her inter-disciplinary solo show, Pack Light, debuted at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2006. As a vocalist, she sings with the Marionettes Chorale, and has sung and recorded with Orisha singer/songwriter Ella Andall. She also has appeared in print and television commercials, and has voiced several radio advertisements that have aired both in Trinidad & Tobago and internationally. She is a member of the Equity perfomers union in the United Kingdom, and of the National Drama Association of Trinidad & Tobago (NDATT).

In addition to acting and singing, Caroline has also worked in the performing arts in non-profit arts administration – particularly marketing, development and education – with premiere US Off-Broadway theatre companies like Second Stage Theatre (2ST), 651 ARTS, and MCC Theater; and with Caribbean Contemporary Arts (CCA7), Derek Walcott's Trinidad Theatre Workshop (TTW), the Patrons of Queen's Hall, and the Marionettes Chorale in Trinidad.

In the media industry, Caroline Taylor is the editor of Discover Trinidad & Tobago magazine and a contributor to Caribbean Beat through Media & Editorial Projects Ltd (MEP). She also works in online marketing (including website development, search engine optimisation and social media marketing), managing these initiatives for MEP and the Marionettes, and consulting on social media strategies for various small businesses and nonprofits.
